تم تصميم مبنى وزارة الخارجية في الرياض من قبل شركة هينينغ لارسن في أوائل الثمانينيات، ويُعدّ من أبرز مشاريعهم وحاز جائزة آغا خان للعمارة في دورة 1987–1989. يقع المبنى الإداري على مساحة 85,000 متر مربع جنوب حي النموذجية. بدأ المشروع في مسابقة معمارية عام 1979 بالتعاون مع الاتحاد الدولي للمهندسين المعماريين. المبنى الرئيسي مصمم على شكل مثلث هندسي يتمحور حول ردهة من أربع طوابق تؤدي إلى ثلاث ساحات رئيسية لها قبب ترمز للمكاتب الثلاثة الرئيسية للوزارة.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Riyadh was designed by Henning Larsen in the early 1980s. It is considered one of their most significant projects, and was the recipient of the Aga Khan award in its 1987–1989 cycle. The building is situated on an 85,000 sqm plot south of Al Namudhajiah district. The project was founded on an architectural competition in 1979 in collaboration with the Union Internationale des Architects, with invitees including Renzo Piano, Bofill/Taller de Arquitectura, Frei Otto, and Arata Isozaki. Henning Larsen won with his poetic weaving of Najdi vernacular and Danish simplicity. The triangular plan is centered around a four-story lobby leading to three main octagonal dome-covered plazas representing the ministry's three offices.
